Our Process

We believe a powerful brand identity is born from clarity, collaboration, and strategic creativity. Here’s how we turn vision into reality:

Step 1.

Discovery

Your biggest problems need real solutions.
‍
We start by understanding what's possible. In our strategic workshops, you talk, we listen. From those conversations, we build a map: challenges named, solutions surfaced, vision clarified. That's your foundation.

Step 2.

Ideation

Workshop insights fuel the creative work.
‍
We align our vision first—and that's where mood boards come in. We don't just collect images. We refine them, adapt them, and give you a clear picture of what's ahead. Together we identify what resonates and spot design opportunities.

Step 3.

Creation

Design work starts here.
‍
Our team takes your insights and mood board, then crafts the foundation of your brand's visual identity. Logos, colours, typography, brand elements—they all come together as one cohesive language. Tailored to your unique needs.

Step 4.

Application

Where your brand meets the real world.
Once we lock in a direction, we build it out, print to digital, details to big screens. Every touchpoint is executed with purpose. Your brand scales and grows.

Step 5.

Delivery

You're satisfied. We hand over the keys.
‍
A comprehensive brand manual becomes your guide. Everything you need to maintain and use your visual identity. Your brand is in good hands. Yours.Check out our own brand guidelines here

Step 1.

Discovery

To solve your biggest problems, we must first understand what is possible. Through a series of strategic workshops, we work together to uncover essential questions —  Who are we? Who is our audience? Why are we doing this? Why should they care?

‍You talk, we listen. These conversations are the foundation of our journey ahead. We’ll build a map with challenges identified, solutions generated, and a better understanding of your long-term vision.

Step 2.

ideation

With insights from our workshop, we’re ready to begin the creative work. First step is to align our vision. This is where our mood boards come in. We go beyond simply a collection of images. We refine and adapt them to give you a clear picture of what’s ahead. Together, we’ll discuss what resonates with you and identify design opportunities. The result becomes our north star throughout the design phase.

Step 3.

Creation

This is where the design work begins. From our insights and mood board, our team crafts the foundation of your brand’s visual identity. Logos, colours, typography, and other brand elements come together to form a cohesive visual language, keeping in mind to address your brand’s unique needs.

Step 4.

Application

Where the brand meets the real world. Once we confirm a direction from the Creation phase, we build out the brand — from print to digital, from the thoughtful details to biggest screens. Our job is to ensure each touchpoint is executed with purpose and your brand is built to scale up and grow.

Step 5.

Delivery

Once you’re satisfied with the outcome, our collaboration comes to a close with a final step. We’ll leave you with a brand manual — a comprehensive set of guidelines to guide you in the long run. You will be equipped with the knowledge to maintain and utilize your visual identity effectively, making sure your brand is in good hands.

"Although we’re creatives ourselves, we’re not designers. We felt like we had something special, but the visuals didn’t connect. There was a clear disconnect between the brand identity, which was created before we even opened and what our shops actually felt like.

Our blue bags were already in use, but they weren’t memorable. Now they make a statement."

Frequently Asked Questions

Below, we’ve answered some common questions about our approach.

The Partnership

When is the right time to hire a branding agency for a rebrand?

Most of our partners reach out when there is a visible disconnect between their product quality and their visual identity. If you find yourself saying, "we are better than we look," or if your brand feels too small for your current scale, it is time for a change. We help established brands move from feeling dated to transformative, and we help startups launch with the authority of a market leader.

What industries does Kith&Kin specialise in?

While we are industry-agnostic in our creative thinking, we have deep expertise in F&B, Hospitality, and NGOs. We are specifically known for our ability to navigate cultural nuances, helping Asian brands find their voice in Western markets and vice versa. We thrive on projects where community connection and cultural relevance are the primary drivers of success.

How long does a typical branding project take?

A comprehensive brand identity usually takes between 12 and 16 weeks. This ensures we do not just focus on aesthetics but actually build a strategic foundation. This timeline covers everything from our deep-dive discovery workshops to the final delivery of your brand manual and assets.

Process & Deliverables

What is the time commitment required from my team?

We view our clients as partners rather than just customers. You can expect to participate in three 90 minute strategy workshops during the Discovery and Ideation phases. These sessions are vital because they allow us to uncover the purpose behind your business and ensure the final design is built on a foundation you believe in.

Do you provide web design and development services?

Yes. We believe a brand truly comes to life in the digital space. We provide end-to-end UI and UX design and development, specialising exclusively in Webflow and Shopify. This focus allows us to build bespoke, scalable websites that give you full control over your content once we hand over the keys.

What files will I receive at the end of the project?

You will receive a toolkit designed for the real world. This includes your Visual Identity System (logos, typography, and colour palettes) and a detailed Brand Manual. Unlike many studios, we provide native source files as standard so that you have full autonomy over your brand assets for years to come.

Logistics and Ownership

Who owns the final brand designs and intellectual property?

Upon completion of the project and final payment, full ownership and copyright of the chosen brand identity are transferred to you. We believe that for a brand to be successful, the business owner must own its foundations entirely.

Can I hire Kith&Kin if my business is based outside of Hong Kong?

Absolutely. We operate as a studio which leverages technology where it's suitable  and have successfully partnered with brands across across the world. We use collaborative tools like digital whiteboards and video workshops to ensure that being in a different time zone never feels like a barrier to great design.

Do you offer support after the brand has launched?

We do not design and disappear. Through our Guardianship programme, we act as your outsourced brand department. We help you implement your new identity across day-to-day touchpoints, ensuring consistency and quality as your business continues to evolve.
