Our Process
We believe a powerful brand identity is born from clarity, collaboration, and strategic creativity. Here’s how we turn vision into reality:
Step 1.
To solve your biggest problems, we must first understand what is possible. Through a series of strategic workshops, we work together to uncover essential questions — Who are we? Who is our audience? Why are we doing this? Why should they care?
You talk, we listen. These conversations are the foundation of our journey ahead. We’ll build a map with challenges identified, solutions generated, and a better understanding of your long-term vision.

Step 2.
With insights from our workshop, we’re ready to begin the creative work. First step is to align our vision. This is where our mood boards come in. We go beyond simply a collection of images. We refine and adapt them to give you a clear picture of what’s ahead. Together, we’ll discuss what resonates with you and identify design opportunities. The result becomes our north star throughout the design phase.

Step 3.
This is where the design work begins. From our insights and mood board, our team crafts the foundation of your brand’s visual identity. Logos, colours, typography, and other brand elements come together to form a cohesive visual language, keeping in mind to address your brand’s unique needs.

Step 4.
Where the brand meets the real world. Once we confirm a direction from the Creation phase, we build out the brand — from print to digital, from the thoughtful details to biggest screens. Our job is to ensure each touchpoint is executed with purpose and your brand is built to scale up and grow.
Step 5.
Once you’re satisfied with the outcome, our collaboration comes to a close with a final step. We’ll leave you with a brand manual — a comprehensive set of guidelines to guide you in the long run. You will be equipped with the knowledge to maintain and utilize your visual identity effectively, making sure your brand is in good hands.

"Although we’re creatives ourselves, we’re not designers. We felt like we had something special, but the visuals didn’t connect. There was a clear disconnect between the brand identity, which was created before we even opened and what our shops actually felt like.
Our blue bags were already in use, but they weren’t memorable. Now they make a statement."

Frequently Asked Questions
Below, we’ve answered some common questions about our approach.
Strategy & Value
What are the signs that my business needs a rebrand?
You likely need a rebrand if your current visual identity no longer reflects your business maturity, audience, or values.
Common signs include:
- A disconnect between your product quality and your look
- struggling to differentiate from competitors
- or needing to unite internal teams under a shared vision.
If you find yourself explaining "we're better than we look," it is time for a refresh.
Why should I invest in brand strategy, not just a logo?
A logo is just a symbol; brand strategy is the plan that ensures that symbol builds trust and equity.
Investing in strategy aligns your business goals with customer needs, ensuring that every visual decision, from typography to colour, has a commercial and cultural purpose. This creates a resilient brand that drives long-term growth rather than just short-term aesthetic appeal.
How does Kith & Kin ensure our brand connects with our specific community?
We prioritize "People First, Design Follows," using deep research to understand local and cultural nuances.
Unlike agencies that rely on assumptions, we conduct collaborative workshops to uncover your audience’s values and pain points. We then design a system that authentically speaks their language, ensuring your brand feels like a natural part of their community.
Process & Deliverables
How long does a typical branding project take?
A comprehensive brand identity project typically takes between 12 to 16 weeks from discovery to delivery.
This timeline includes our five-step process: Discovery (Strategy), Ideation (Concept), Creation (Design), Application & Delivery (Rollout). Timelines may vary depending on the scope of deliverables and feedback speeds.
What exactly is included in a brand identity package?
Our deliverables are customized to your needs but always include a core Visual Identity System.
This typically comprises a primary logo and variations, a colour palette, a typography system, and a comprehensive Brand Manual (guidelines). Depending on the project scope, we also provide digital assets, packaging designs, print collateral, and environmental design mockups.
How is your approach different from other design agencies?
We bridge the gap between business strategy and creative execution.
While some agencies focus solely on "making things look good," Kith & Kin focuses on solving business problems through design. We are partners, not just service providers, staying involved from the initial "Why are we doing this?" to the final rollout to ensure the result drives tangible impact.
Collaboration & Logistics
Do you work with international clients outside of Hong Kong?
Yes, we work with clients globally using a digital-first collaboration process.
We have successfully partnered with brands across different time zones. We utilize video workshops, digital whiteboards, and clear project management tools to ensure seamless communication, regardless of whether you are in London, Los Angeles, or Asia.
Do you help with implementation after the brand is designed?
Yes, we offer a "Guardianship" program to manage your brand's consistency post-launch.
We don't just hand over a bunch of design files and disappear. We can continue to partner with you to refine, update, and protect your brand’s execution across day-to-day touchpoints, ensuring your new identity stays cohesive as you scale.
